All Signs Point to Greece

Earlier this year, while working on the details of my upcoming Sedona retreat, the idea of hosting another international retreat came to mind. I knew I wanted it to take place in Europe, but I wasn’t sure where.

About a month later, I dreamed that I was hosting a retreat in Greece. I woke up the next morning, told my son about it, and made a mental note to learn more about Greece as a possibility.

Shortly before the dream, I had scheduled a meeting with a representative from Fit4Travel, a company that helps teachers and practitioners organize international wellness retreats. The company had been contacting me for more than a year, but I knew very little about it. To be honest, I was skeptical. I had spoken with other companies offering similar services, but they hadn’t felt like the right fit for me or my retreats.

During the meeting, I learned more about how Fit4Travel approaches its trips. Each journey combines daily wellness practices with local activities and excursions, resort accommodations, meals, transportation, and the support of a bilingual tour guide who manages the day-to-day logistics. The thoughtful balance of wellness, cultural exploration, and local support began to ease my skepticism.

I decided to take a leap of faith and plan an international retreat for 2027. The next question was where it would take place. Because the year was already more than halfway over, many of the European destinations were booked. As the representative reviewed the remaining options, Greece was among them.

It is interesting how answers sometimes seem to appear at just the right moment. Between the dream, the meeting, and Greece appearing on the list of available destinations, it felt as though all the signs were pointing in the same direction.

The resulting journey through Crete and Santorini brings together wellness practices, cultural experiences, exploration, and rest. The itinerary includes hikes to ancient ruins, a wine tasting and cooking class centered on local food and traditions, a catamaran trip offering a view of the islands from the water, and time to wander through villages, restaurants, shops, and museums. Time at two beautiful resorts creates space for a slower pace and a fuller experience of the landscape, culture, and character of both islands.
