EFT Tapping for Stress Management & Nervous System Regulation

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is commonly known as Tapping. It’s an easy, self-administered practice that promotes nervous system regulation.  

EFT can be used on almost anything; stress, anxiety, cravings, physical pain, sports performance, and if you choose to go deeper, it’s extremely effective for processing trauma.

The brain can't tell the difference between a perceived threat (traffic or a fight with your boss) and an actual threat (a tiger chasing you), so when we feel stressed, the body releases the same hormones as if our lives were in danger, and we start to engage in fight, flight or freeze. EFT uses exposure (thinking about the problem) while simultaneously sending a signal of safety to your brain and body by tapping on Acupressure points. This reduces cortisol and down regulates the amygdala, which can help create new associations around the issue because, if you were actually being chased by a tiger, you'd be running, not tapping.
